My Story
"Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value."
- Albert Einstein

I believe that life is lived in pursuit of two things, happiness and value. Happiness comes to a person as they add value to their life. This is my story of how I added value to my life.

Final Year Art Project
This piece was a part of the final instalment for my STPM commissioned art project in the year 2017. The painting's concept is the battle against cancer, it was created to pay homage to a friend of mine battling cancer. The painting took approximately six months to complete. The most important part of every painting is the conceptualization of the artwork itself, therefore, every student is required to make multiple drawings of the final piece to perfect the sketch for the artwork. After the sketch is approved we are then tasked with the process of creating a colour theme for the painting. It took me two weeks to decide which colour theme to choose and I finally chose the colour of fire as the main theme of the sketch was a phoenix rising from ashes. Every element of the painting was carefully curated to create the final piece.

STPM Art Exhibition
The STPM Art exhibition is conducted on a yearly basis to introduce aspiring new artists as well as their artworks. The Art Exhibition itself is set up by the students, similar to that of a real exhibition. As the artist knows the best light and setting for their artwork they decide on almost every element of the exhibition for their artwork. Prior to the exhibition itself, the students and the school have a promotion period for the exhibition inviting parents and other individuals to the event. The hope for the event is to give the students the maximum amount of exposure for their artwork so prospective companies can scout them. Almost every element of the exhibition is decided by the students, except for the placement of the artwork which is decided by the school so that biases or arguments in terms of placement. This project is one of the closest to my heart as it was more than a piece of art, it was a prayer for a loved one.

Student Leadership Convention 2017
This convention was conducted by LEAD Malaysia to promote leadership skills in young adults. A majority of the participants were under the age of 20, the goal of the event was to encourage leadership within young adults and to prepare them for the working environment. A large number of influencers, people of stature, politicians as well as hosts were invited to the event to give speeches and conduct workshops. The workshop was very helpful as it helped me learn how to work as a team with people I just met and also taught me how to be a leader.

Extreme Challenge
The Extreme Challenge in Tadom Hills is one of the most exhilarating sports event I have participated in. This event truly did challenge my fears and created an extremely interactive social experience. As someone who had a severe fear of heights, I knew from the start that this event was going to be extremely nerve-wracking. The flying fox challenge which had a strip that bypassed a huge lake was not at all what I expected which made it that much more harder. However, after I finished my turn I realized that while it was an extremely challenging course, nothing in this world is impossible. I believe that this event made me bolder and more willing to take on challenges no matter how afraid I am. As Nelson Mandela once said, "The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."

Malaysian Bar Annual Dinner 2016
The Malaysian Bar Council conducts this dinner annually to encourage socialization amongst the legal community. Through this event, I was able to meet the illustrious Dato' Ambiga Sreenevasan. Dato Ambiga was one of my greatest inspirations and was the biggest motivator in my contemplation of joining law. If it were not for this event, I probably would have pursued a career in law. However, she said something in that event that completely changed my perspective towards life. She said, "A lot of people do law thinking they can change the world, but you do not need to be a lawyer to change the world". This statement completely changed the path of my future, because the biggest reason I wanted to be a lawyer was so that I can help the helpless. Through this experience I realized, I did not need to pursue a career I was not passionate about to do this. I believe this was the first moment where I found my new passion; Communications.
