The workshop I attended was conducted by Air Asia titled "How To Excel In Your Interviews", the reason I chose to join this workshop is because I believe AirAsia has a very strong headstart when it comes to customer service and handling clients. Therefore, when they give advice about how to handle interviews they would do so with the best interpersonal skills in mind.

The insight that stuck with me the most is an element of my interview skills that I'm not entirely confident about, the skill of answering questions I'm not sure about. Often when I don't know how to answer a question I go into it with spontaneity instead of truly thinking it through, which often leads to me overpromising or answering in a manner that doesn't entirely make sense. This workshop however gave me the perfect tip, "When you are not sure about how to answer a question, ask the interviewer back, how would you answer this question as I am not entirely sure". This response honestly shocked me, as I truly believed that we should never show or admit weakness or flaws, however, this workshop taught me that it is okay to not know, you just need to be willing to learn.

Another takeaway that truly stuck with me is the concept of sending a thank you note to the interviewer after completing the interview. Prior to this, I have only ever followed up after an interview to check if the position is being offered to me, however, it never occurred to me to thank them for their time and their consideration. I believe this tip will not only aid me to become a better person but will also help me in the process of getting a job.
