The workshop I chose to attend was conducted by Public Bank titled "How To Land & Thrive In Your First Job", the reason I chose to join this workshop is because of the anxiety I have surrounding the concept of starting a whole new phase of my life. Therefore, I believed that gaining some insight on how to handle entering the workforce would be helpful in the long run. While the workshop was not able to complete alleviate my worries and anxieties, several helpful tips were shared. The two valuable insights that I gained through attending this workshop was the manner in which I should conduct myself in an interview as well the tricks an interviewer uses to gauge the interviewee's personality.
As one of the main focuses of the workshop was on how to land your first job, most of the content and the advice that was given embodied an element of this theme. The point that stuck with me the most was the concept of maintaining a humble tone without being self-deprecating. As someone with numerous jobs, I always employed the Asian culture of underselling myself to avoid seeming arrogant or cocky, however through this workshop I learned that this trait could be viewed as a lack of self-confidence. I was guided to be humble while showcasing my strengths as well as how I manage to achieve these strengths.

Another insight from this workshop that truly stuck with me was the fact that interviewer's use subtle forms of manipulation to gauge an individuals personality. Prior to this, I had no knowledge of this subtle form of manipulation. However, this workshop shed some light on this, an example of this subtle manipulation is the long hours an interviewee is made to wait for an interview. According to the workshop the company might do this to see how external environmental stressors affect you and also to see how you react to them. Another example given in this workshop is also the awkward silences that ensues in an interview, according to the workshop this is done to gauge how an interviewee handles the silence and their reactions.

To conclude, this workshop truly gave me a lot to reflect upon in terms of my actions and reactions in an interview.
